San Francisco, CA: February 18, 1932., 1932.. Good. - Quarto [approximately 11 inches high by 8-1/2 inches wide]. 89 words typed on a sheet of his company letterhead with his initials printed within a wide decorative band at the top and his name and San Francisco address below. Signed "J. H. Nash". The sheet of letterhead is watermarked with the initials "JHN"and the name "JOHN HENRY NASH". The edges of the letter are darkened & chipped. There are small pieces out of the right hand margin with short tears at the folds. There is a pencil note by Meriden in the left margin & an unsigned carbon copy of Meriden's reply is on the verso. Good.

John Henry Nash writes to Meriden Gravure Company: "I am planning a new school catalogue in an edition of 1700 copies and am interested in your Collotypes as shown in your booklet, 'Collotype for Illustrations in Fine Books'. Will you please give me an approximate price on printing collotypes on 25 by 38" stock...". On the verso of the letter is an unsigned copy of Meriden's reply from E. Harold Hugo, attaching an estimate [not present] and expressing his pleasure at the prospect of working with Nash.
