Bound in pale ivory publisher's cloth with gilt stamped title and design on front board; on the rear board, a floral device and the words "Rosa Mundi," a reference to the final poem (probably a reference to Rosamond, Gilder's daughter, born the same year this volume was published). Binding designed by Sarah Wyman Whitman. Gilder was an influential poet and editor of Scribner's Monthly and The Century Magazines.
