New York: Lovell, Coryell & Company, 1893. FIRST AMER. EDITION. Full blue cloth hardcover with a gilt illustration and titling on the front cover. Cutler cites the paperbound issue of this book, published on April 25, 1893, and also notes that it also appeared in 1893 "in blue cloth, with a reduced representation of the frontispiece on the front cover. Wear through the front cover's cloth with fraying to cloth at the top & bottom of the spine, bottom corners lightly bumped, back cover cloth a bit wavy and worn, webbing visible at gutter behind front cover, half title and endpage foxed, other pages clean. Overall in GOOD condition. Sir James Matthew Barrie, 1st Baronet, OM (9 May 1860 19 June 1937), more commonly known as J. M. Barrie, was a Scottish novelist and dramatist. He is best remembered for creating Peter Pan, the boy who refused to grow up, whom he based on his friends, the Llewelyn Davies boys. He is also credited with the popularisation of the name "Wendy", which was little-known in either Britain or America before he gave it to the heroine of Peter Pan.
