(1st) Slightly smaller book, green cloth spine, light blue cloth boards, gilt lettering bright on spine, tiny crease at bottom front tip, gold background and publisher's name in white pattern inside covers and adjacent end papers, 244 lightly browned pages. DJ designed by Allen Davis. DJ price-clipped, glossy with colorful illustration of two men's faces, the White House in flames, an Asian soldier on back, praise for "Man on a String," at top back from Publisher's Weekly, New York Times Book Review. DJ has very slight surface wear at top front tip, white portion of back at top left lightly soiled. Very Good DJ/Very Fine book.
