About This Item

New York; London: McGraw-Hill Book Company; Thames and Hudson, 1971. First edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Very Good. 14" by 10.5" . None stated . The first edition of this profusely illustrated account of the twentieth century from science and technology to the arts, edited by Alan Bullock. The first edition of the work. In the original publisher's cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Heavily illustrated throughout with 731 illustrations including 234 in full colour and 497 photographs, engravings and maps. Collated complete. This work has been edited by Alan Bullock with sections written by contributors that are specialists in those fields. This heavily illustrated work provides an account of the twentieth century from the development of technology and science to the arts and history. In the original publisher's cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally lovely with only very minimal rubbing to the gilt lettering to the spine and to a corner to the rear board. The wrap is very smart with marks to the joints of the fly leaves, the odd minor closed tear, minor loss and closed tears to the laminate coating and minor discolouration to a small portion to the rear. Internally firmly bound with clean and generally bright pages with only light age toning to the extremities. Near Fine
