About This Item

New York: Grove/Atlantic, 2011. Hardcover. Very Good/Near Fine. The award-winning LaPlante has written a stunning literary thriller. It is narrated by Dr. Jennifer White, a retired orthopedic surgeon in the early stages of dementia, who police believe, has murdered her longtime friend and cut off her fingers. Dr. White can't remember and must try to pull together the pieces of her mind to discover who killed her friend. First edition, first printing. About 6 1/8 x 9 1/4 inches, 307 pages in black paper-covered boards with a black backstrip and gold lettering on spine. The pictorial dustjacket features a faded picture of a woman with handwritten notes in white across her chest. Title is in blue at top of dj; author in white at bottom. A single page (39-40) has a vertical crease the length of the page and the back endpage has a creased upper corner. O/w boards and text are clean, complete and unmarked, tight and square. No signs of wear except very slight bumping at spine ends. Dustjacket shows shows only a touch of soiling on back panel, o/w without significant flaws or damage such as tears, chipping or bumping. This is LaPlante's fourth novel and fifth book.
