First edition, 8vo, mild foxing mostly to extremities of text block, gift inscription to front free endpaper dated November 1922, original pictorial cloth, dust-jacket by Gordon Robinson, wear to corners and near head of spine, with section of loss to upper panel affecting the 'TR' in 'TRIUMPH', 2 light vertical creases to upper panel, some minor marking.
The further adventures of Baroness Emmuska Orczy's elusive Scarlet Pimpernel, aka Sir Percy Blakeney, during the French Revolution. This time set against a backdrop of the Thermidorian Reaction in 1794, again interweaving historic fact with fiction via the real life figures of Thérésa Cabarrus, and Jean-Lambert Tallien.
