New York: William Morrow & Company, 1928. First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Good+. 8vo. [4], v-xvi, [2], 1-204, [2] pp. Black cloth with a decoration in gold on the front board and gold lettering and a snake stamped in gold on the spine. Decorated endpapers and pastedowns. With a frontispiece and nine plates, and several in-text woodcuts by Ilse M. Bischoff. With an introduction by Burton Roscoe. Translated by Paul Fenimore Cooper, the grandson of James Fenimore Cooper. Cooper was one of a few Americans at the time who could speak Albanian. Jacket is price-clipped with several wrinkles and a few tape repairs to its reverse.
