About This Item

Australia: Angus & Robertson, 1982. Reprint 1982. Hardback. Very Good/Very Good. Angus & Robertson Publishers, Australia, 1982. Reprinted 1982. Book condition: very good. A little rubbing to extremities of spine, to corners and to board edges. Gift dedication to verso of half title page. Dust jacket: very good. Unclipped. A little edge wear and generally lightly soiled. Small closed tear to upper edge at spine, corners a little chipped. When first published, A. B. ("Banjo") Paterson's first book of verse containing the poem The Man From Snowy River sold more copies than that of almost any other poet writing in English. Since then the poem has been included in countless collections of verse and willingly learnt by millions of Australian school children. It has become such a part of Australian national life that people still argue about who the "real" man from Snowy River was. The poems and prose selections in this book, together with the magnificent photography, Paterson's great love of the Snowy Mountains and surrounding countryside. The photographs in the book were taken during the filming of The Man From Snowy River - a Geoff Burrow-George Miller Production.
