First page is tipped in, describes an inscription on the headstone of Dr. William Morton, inventor of modern anesthetics. Frontispiece tissue guard intact. Back endpaper and pastedown contain extensive annotations. Spine is cocked slightly to the right. Edges show minor wear. Spine head and foot are chipped and lightly damaged. Binding is tight.
