Octavo, [16], 394pp. Tan cloth, title in green on spine and front cover. Stated "published June 1938" on copyright page with no additional printings listed. Solid text block, top edge dyed black, a fine example. Illustrated endpapers. Complete with 14 full-color illustrations by N.C. Wyeth. In publisher's dust jacket, $4.00 retail price on front flap, wear to corners, light chipping to spine, toning to front flap, a very good example. Signed by the author on the front free endpaper. Kenneth Roberts (1885-1957) wrote historical fiction, winning the Pulitzer Prize Special Citation in 1957 for his novels focusing on early American history.
