First American Edition of "A Treatise on the Diseases of the Heart...", published in 1842; 572 pages, plus 22 illustrations on nine plates (one folding), followed by two pages of ads; Bound with Volume I of "The American Medical Intelligencer, New Series"; Half leather covers are well worn and spine covers are missing; Both covers are almost detached; Book plate on front paste down; End pages are darkened; Just a very little scattered light foxing; Text is tight and overall very clean and intact; This would be a great binding copy of this rare first American edition.
