About This Item

London: Hutchinson & Co., [1926]. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Very Good. 7.5" by 4.5". None. The second edition of this posthumous novel by H. Rider Haggard featuring the popular character Allan Quatermain, in the original scarce dust wrapper. The second edition. Twelfth thousand. In the publisher's original cloth with the original very scarce unclipped dust wrapper. This work was written by the popular author H. Rider Haggard, best known for his work 'King Solomon's Mines'. This work was published posthumously after Haggard's death in 1925, and follows Allan Quartermain as he discovers a village ruled by a mysterious man who seems to be able to tell the future. Undated, dated by copies held institutionally. In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally excellent with fading to the spine with discolouration to the head and tail, a very slight lean and minor bumping and wear to the head and tail of the spine. Offsetting to the endpapers with spotting to the front. The wrap is generally smart with sunning and loss to the head and tail of the spine, a one inch closed tear to the front with small closed tears and creasing to the extremities, handling marks and chipping. Internally firmly bound with generally bright and clean pages with the odds spot, heavier to the front blanks. Spotting to the fore edge. Very Good Indeed
