Interesting account of social, economic, political conditions and a description of natural resources, opium trade, agriculture, religion, slavery, etc, based on the author's three years of travels to Burma, Chittagong, Arracan, Andaman, Rangoon, Pegu, Irrawady, Ava, Calcutta, Madras, East Bengal, Nicobar Islands, Tristan de Cuhan, Malacca, Singapore, Siam, Macoa and China.
