About This Item
Enthralled by a line from the chronicle of a 16th century monk, which said that the Incas 'flew like birds' over the jungle, Tahir Shah sets out to discover the truth. Did they really glide above the trees, or was the cleric alluding to flight of a different kind, inspired by hallucinogens? Shah's quest leads him deep into Peru. Many epic encounters later he finally uncovers the truth behind the birdmen.
