In very good maroon buckram and maroon leather spine; gilt crest to front and gilt titles to back strip. The covers are tight, straight and clean; spine worn, especially on ends. Lightly tanned end papers; yellow and black crest (different designs) on both paste downs; 'ex libris' with name of previous owner on front free end paper. Gilt top cut edge; lightly tanned fore and tail edges. The text block is in very good condition and excellent for age, with tightly bound, straight and clean pages. Red and black decorative title page. Frontispiece of castle with tissue guard. No jacket.
