Octavo, priority unknown here, pp. xvi, 451, 2 folding maps, blue cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine and front. The author, a respected historian of China, was a Canadian-American who worked in customs administration for the Western powers in China. Condition of this book: Very good with spotted edges and browning to the endpages, inside clean. Size: Octavo (standard book size). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
