Signed. First Edition. Near Fine. Study of the people of the Mentawai Islands off the west coast of Sumatra. 200 illustrations. Vey slight corner bumps at the top otherwise like new. No dust jacket, as issued. Book is inscribed to the late Margaret McDermott, once the grande dame of Dallas art philanthropy, whose interest in Indonesian art is largely responsible for the collection at the Dallas Museum of Art. Inscribed and signed by Dr. Schefold and also signed by Dr Jet Bakels, a primary organizer of the exhibition.
