Horace's Head in Fleet Street London: Benjamin White, 1784. Second Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. GRIFFITH Moses 1747-1819. VG, 2 vols, 2nd ed, 62 pls, 3 eng tps, 5 woodcuts, complete. In contemporary full diced calf, gilt edge tooling, corners and edges lightly bumped and worn. New spines, to style, raised bands, gilt tooling, titles in gilt to maroon leather labels. Internally, gilt tooling to board edges, marbled endpapers, hinges strengthened, no inscriptions, text block edges yellowed, occasional light foxing and browning. Vol 1, 1784, engraved titlepage with vignette of Caergwrle Castle, [10], [1], 2-488 pp, 27 pls (of 26), (includes 1 pl from vol 2 as normal, 2 portraits, 2 plans, 9 folding), 1 woodcut, [8] index. Vol 2, 1784, engraved title page, and the additional 1781 engraved Snowdon tp, [2], (vi), [2], [1], 2-498 pp, [1], 2-7 pp supplement text, [8] index, 25 pls (of 26, the 26th is in Vol 1 as normal, includes 1 folding, 3 plans, 2 portraits), plus the 10 supplemental plates (1 folding), 4 woodcuts, 2 engraved title pages. Regarded by many as Pennant's best travel book. Originally published in 2 parts in 1778, the Snowdon part came later and then the 3 parts combined in 1784. Was republished in 1810 in 3 volumes and again in 1883. (Folio, 190*233 cms). (ESTC T213985. Allibone 1553. Lowndes 1823). Pennant, Thomas, naturalist, traveller, and writer, whose travels and natural history are distinguished by his personal energy, a keen observational sense, and by methodological organization and attention to facts. CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS You may request to cancel a book order or return a book within 14 days of receipt of the book. A book may be returned for one of the following reasons: Item damaged: The item was damaged during shipping. Item not as described: The condition of the book does not match the description on Madoc Books. Incorrect item delivered: The title, cover or edition of the book is different than the title on the order. Item not received: The estimated delivery date has passed and the book has still not arrived. To cancel a book order or return a book simply contact Madoc with your order confirmation details and to obtain the return address.

DELIVERY DETAILS We ship all of our orders via Royal Mail. Orders are usually shipped within 2 or 3 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized or a multiple in books we will contact you to let you know that extra shipping is required. Insurance costs are usually dictated by the shippers, should they be higher than normal, then we will contact you for your acceptance.
