Jersey City, NJ: Colonial Life Insurance Company of America, 1909. (48)pp. A chronological sketch of the history of the U.S., describing major events in the country's development beginning with Columbus's discovery of the New World and concluding with Taft's inauguration in 1909. Illustrated with line drawings of important historical figures and iconography, such as Benjamin Franklin, the Liberty Bell, and Lincoln's log cabin. In rough red gilt-stamped cloth wrappers. Gilt faded, text block partially detached from wrappers, and staining to few pages; else a very good copy of a rare miniature book, with only two institutional copies recorded. (2 by 1 1/4; 50x33mm).
