About This Item
Winnipeg: Budjoy Publishing, 2020. Paper bound, flat signed ""best wishes"" by author on title page, illustrated throughout, xviii + Pp328. As new. 500 grams. Del Sexsmith, Program Director at CJOB (1984-1991) writes: Together at Tobans is a charming collection of nostalgic stories told by the ""kids"" who grew up during the 50s in the melting pot of Winnipeg's North End. Bud Ulrich and his companions delight with their irreverent tales of lives rooted in ""muchka ball"", garden raids, Boss's Pool Hall, Kelekis Restaurant, Florence Nightingale School, and skating for hours in the frosty outdoor rink at Tobans Community Club on Selkirk Avenue. Pranksters then and for years afterwards, the memories of Bud's ""kids"" speak of an innocent time, one that formed the bedrock for the many fulfilling and remarkable lices that followed, long after the rink had disappeared. Nostalgic, witty, and poignant, Together at Tobans is a wonderful read. We welcome all reasonable offers on our books. All books in stock and available for immediate shipment from Winnipeg, Manitoba.
