About This Item
New York: Harcourt Brace, 1939. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/very good. Inscribed by Saroyan to prominent San Francisco physician (and Saroyan collector) Ernst du Bray in 1940. Book is near fine, the only defect being some acid offset from articles about Saroyan (still present). Offsetting darkens the autograph page, but does not otherwise affect the inscription. DJ is VG/VG+, with a couple of closed tears and minor general wear, still holding nice color. Spine is not sunned. Other books autographed by Saroyan for Dr. du Bray are available, one of which (My Name is Aram) refers to Dr. du Bray as "the Saroyan collector."
