Black and white photographic frontispiece, showing a very young Dennis Wheatley. The text is illustrated with black and white photographs. Black coloured boards with gilt coloured illustration to the front panel and gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Photographic dustwrapper, same photograph as for frontispiece, with blue and white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Black and white photograph of author, as a mature man, to the rear panel. The first part of the author Dennis Wheatley's autobiography, from his childhood up to the eve of World War I. Edges with bumping of the book corners with the underlying board visible to the lower book corners. Age toning of the text block edges and pages. A faint remainder mark to the top text edge. Chipping along the dustwrapper edges and corners accompanied by a various tears, measuring from 0.25 " to 1.25", with associated creasing. Some of the tears have been repaired with tape, with the tape still in situ. Some rubbing of the panels. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [13], 14 - 255, [1] pages,.
