B T Batsford Ltd, May 1941 1941. 1st Edition. Hardcover. VG++/VG. 1st Edition. 16.4 x 23.8 cm orange cloth with gilt stamped titles to the spine, top edge orange, viii, 136 pp with 93pp of black and white photographic illustrations including frontispiece. Original dust jacket with 15s. net price. The boards are clean and bright with just a little pushing to the corners. Internally, without name, inscription or bookplate and just a little spotting mainly to the edge of the text block and prelims. The dust jacket which is now protected in a removable, clear cover (not shown) has a 0.7 cm chip to the head of the spine that has had some restoration work. There is tape to the rear of the jacket on the spine tips and a 1.2 cm closed tear at the top of the upper panel. The corners, edges an spine tips are a little rubbed and there is a touch of creasing along the top and bottom edges. A collection of photographs taken by Beaton between 1923 and 1940 covering Personalities, beauties, backgrounds, travel, ballet and the last year.
