The text is illustrated with numerous black-and-white illustrations both what page and half page by Harald Gripe. Brown coloured boards with black coloured titles to the spine. Translated from the Swedish by Sheila La Farge. Illustrated dustwrapper, again by Harald Gripe, with bone coloured background and blue and black coloured titles to the front panel and spine. An intricately woven novel set in the Middle Ages. A novel about adolescents and growing up. Corners of the book are bumped and rubbed and shelf wear evident to the lower edges of the book. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine. Top paper edge is slightly foxed and slightly roughened and there are also dust marks. Previous owner's name on the free front endpaper. Rubbing to the book corners and to the head into the heel of the spine. Remains of a sticker can be seen on the top left-hand corner of the front panel. Dustwrapper is rubbed, faded and has some grubby marks. Second impression of the First Edition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. VIII, 208 pages.. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
