B&W photos. 8vo, green cloth with silver lettering on spine; illustrated with frontispiece of the author, 2 preliminary maps (one double-spread of author's Tibetan travels/"marches"), and 38 B&W photos; 288 pages. Detailed travel and anthropological narrative by André Migot, who was fluent in Tibetan and interested in spirituality, culture, and archaeology. In 1946 and '47, he made an extremely arduous journey over thousands of rugged mountainous miles from Kunming to Tangar; thence wound his way through Tibet hoping to reach Lhasa; thereafter, in order to reach Beijing. The result is a detailed overview--with photos--of outlying Tibetan society.<br/><br/>Good plus copy of this interesting narrative. Solid copy with clean interior, pages, maps, and photos. Average wear to cloth which has a slightly faded spine. No previous owner's or remainder marks. No dust jacket.
