First Printing, First Edition. 8vo up to 9½" tall. 183pp. plus one-page publisher's advert. Frontispiece and 44 illustrations by David Wilson including full page plates and line drawings. Cloth boards with pictorial front and spine. Boards have moderate wear with blue colour remaining bright to both front and spine; light spine lean. Inscription dated April 1908 to free endpaper; partial slit to front inside hinge and otherwise contents are in fine condition without markings, tears or folds.A Churchillian satire based on Alice in Wonderland, with Winnie Churchill as Alice on a visit to London and The House of Lords. "A heavily satirical spoof of Parliament and Churchill that wields an imitation Lewis Carroll along with an arsenal of corrosive cartoons. Waghorne and Wilson slash away arguably across the entire spectrum from conservatives to liberals, although some observers may detect bloodier wounds amongst the perceived lords struggling to maintain traditional powers."
