Cloth spine with marbled boards, 282 pp. Black and white illustrations and photos. Davis has written a profusely illustrated account of Venezuela and Central America in the years leading up to the Spanish-American War. He traveled in areas most Americans knew little about -- British Honduras/Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Isthmus of Panama, and Venezuela. This is an exlibrary copy from the Sturgis Library in Barnstable Massachusetts. Library marks include lettering on spine, bookplate from 1896, and stamps. Marbled boards are chipped. Good..
