First Edition, First Printing in scarce original dust jacket, wonderfully inscribed and SIGNED by the author. Very clean blue cloth boards with unworn paper labels on cover and spine. No bumping, fading or wear. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound. Inscribed by author on front free endpaper as follows: "To George Jacques, the accomplished director of destinies at that SHRINE of good eating, the Algonquin! - Grant Overton - 3 April 1924." With publisher's device on copyright page, and an "A". Pages and edges are clean. 331 pages. Dust jacket is clean, has small chips at base of spine, a few short closed edge tears, publisher's printed price "TWO DOLLARS NET" appears on spine; slight browning to spine and to flap fold edges; enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. A tale of love and fate which happens to three persons in a single night, under one roof and traces, in one direction, to the city of Tangier in Africa and a period earlier by ten generations, and in another direction it springs from a burning ship in mid-Pacific twenty years before the night of this meeting..
