New York: Wittenborn and Company, 1947. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. First edition. Introduction by E. McKnight Kauffer. Small quarto. 159pp. Heavily illustrated in color and black and white. With French and Spanish translations. Owner name on front fly canceled in ink, rear hinge starting but sound, near fine in a modestly toned, very good dust jacket with a few short tears mended with tape on the verso. Rand was one of the first American artists to practice the Swiss Style of graphic design, and was known for his corporate logos for IBM, UPS, Enron, Morningstar, Inc., Westinghouse, ABC, and NeXT. He taught graphic design at Yale University, and was inducted into the New York Art Directors Club Hall of Fame in 1972. After collaborating with Steve Jobs on the NeXT computer corporate identity, Jobs referred to him as, "the greatest living graphic designer.
