New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1905. The most popular character created by Ernest William Hornung (1866-1921). This is a Very Good copy of the First American Edition [stated "Published, October, 1905"]. Hubin, p. 212. Black cloth binding, titled in orange on the spine. The pictorial front is rather wonderful, featuring a Hansom cab in black over silver; titling in red and yellow. Clean text;372 pages, with four pages of publisher's adverts in the rear. Frontis illustration and nine others within by Cyrus Cuneo. Title page has a faded ink inscription: "...Library," presumed personal. Very mild rub to margins, with a bit of a lean. In an archival plastic protector.. First American Edition.. Pictorial Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. Illus. by Cyrus Cuneo. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
