No dust jacket. Boards worn along edges with brief exposure and minor fraying; light chipping to spine ends. Binding gives a little and hinges starting but overall holding. Top edge of front free endpapers clipped and interior else unmarked. A Very Good copy of Veblen's famous work, best known for coining the "conspicuous consumption.
Synopsis
The Theory of the Leisure Class is a book, first published in 1899, by the Norwegian-American economist Thorstein Veblen while he was a professor at the University of Chicago. Veblen claimed he wrote the book as a perceptive personal essay criticizing contemporary culture, rather than as an economics textbook. Critics claim this was an excuse for his failure to cite sources.
