First edition limited to 600 copies. 8vo, blue cloth with gilt titles on spine, spine sunned. 120pp illustrated with one colour and 8 black and white full page plates. Gift dedication dated 1950 and a rather long note written in ink on front free endpaper ‘…do not lightly throw this book away’. Occasional notes (3) written in ink within the text. Author’s name hand written on title page. Generally very good and clean inside. Includes the original order note from the publisher’s in an envelope at the rear. ‘The author finds authority in “The Tibetan Book of the Dead”, myths of Plato, some Indian scriptures and parts of the New Testament for an unorthodox but well-reasoned explanation of the limitations and possibilities of man’s life.’
