Very Good book, spine foot crimped, minor offsetting to endpapers, gift inscription front pastedown. Fair dj protected in mylar, loss at edges, minor soiling, price-clipped. ; A fascinating and highly readable account of an Englishman's career as a sheepman in the late 19th century. The editor was Maudslay's niece and her collection of letters from him became her Master's thesis at UT under the direction of J. Frank Dobie.

Austin, TX: University of Texas Press, 1951. xi, 138 pp., light green cloth w/ dark green lettering & illustration; book shows moderately bumped top corners w/ lighter bump to bottom corner of rear board & & to heel of spine; some wear to ends of spine; foxing to top edge of page block; browning & some small brown stains to endpapers w/ remains of ex-libris label to front pastedown; a couple of small spots of foxing to pages w/ foxing to two gutters at one point w/ a turned corner to the intervening page; DJ is worn, torn & very tattered w/ most pieces of spine missing, chipping esp. to edges & folds; held together w/ tape repairs to both the inside & outside; despite all this, the front illustration is mostly complete, and the photos & text on the rest of the jacket are intact; the cover has now been placed in a clear archival grade cover to prevent further deterioration / Illustrated with B&W drawings and photos. /.
