About This Item

Tight binding, some toning to outside page edges. Facsimile reproduction of 1910 edition, published by W. M. Morrison in 1967. 321 pp., appendix. Only reprint of the rare 1910 Neale edition. Important account of stagecoach and freight service in Texas. Much on the Castro Colony and San Antonio. Association: Signed by Crystal Sasse Ragsdale, card laid in indicating it was from her library. Signature authenticated by comparing to her signed work. Author Crystal Sasse Ragsdale was an early pioneer in the newly emerging field of Texas women's studies. Her books, "The Golden Free Land," (1976), "Women in Texas" (with Ann Fears Crawford, 1992), "The Women and Children of the Alamo" (1994), brought to life engaging stories of the women who settled Texas and who were equally important in the struggle for the state's future.
