New York, 1844. x,118pp. Modern half morocco and marbled boards. Ex- lib. with stamps and accession number on titlepage. Titlepage detached. Very light dampstaining to some leaves, else very good. An abridgement of the first volume of Kennedy's much sought after TEXAS: THE RISE, PROGRESS, AND PROSPECTS... (London, 1841). An Irish poet, the author spent two months in the Texas Republic in 1839, and afterwards composed one of the most important works on Texas ever printed.
