About This Item
Boston and New York: Houghton Mifflin, 1927. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Boston Houghton Mifflin, 1926, 1st edition, ix, 460pp, with 2 specially drawn maps and 7 plans, cloth. 16mo, flexible covers in red cloth. 460 pages plus 40 pages of ads plus ads on endpapers. A well preserved copy in DUSTJACKET. The jacket of brown paper with imprinted title, etc., is a little edge worn; the cover has a crease in the cloth for its entire length; inside clean and soundly bound, maps appear to have never seen the light of day, This is probably a later printing (1927) since the first issue was in 1926. There was a revised edition issued in 1929. This touches on every aspect of the island at its beginning as a tourist destination. This is the most uncommon title in this extremely well written series which also includes guides to Mexico and the Japanese Empire.
