Frederick Warne and Co., 1891 Two volumes complete - xxi, [1], 376pp and Volume Two - xv, [1], 347pp, [1]. Original decorative cloth, title in gilt to spines. Rubbed to extremities, slightly chipped to spine ends. Two inch tear at top left of spine in volume one without loss. Paper to inner joints split but holding well, no previous owners' inscriptions, quite bright and clean internally. Complete with 60 plates, three folding maps to rear pocket in volume one and one in volume two. Howgego IV:168-169. Casati (1838-1902) was an Italian explorer who arived in Africa in 1880 and was the first European to see the Ruwenzori Mts. He was with Emin Pasha when Stanley arrived in 1888.. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Good.
