Nice condition vintage copy of "Ten Days That Shook the World" by John Reed with its original dust jacket. Circa 1940's (there is no date of publication stated); The Modern Library; New York. "The Breathless Story of the Russian Revolution, Told by an Eye Witness, and Officially Approved by Lenin." The book contains numerous facsimile documents. From the dust jacket: "John Reed's eye-witness account of the ten most decisive days of our time has become an authentic historical document and a vivid, moment-to-moment narrative of the Bolshevik Revolution. Reed, now buried beneath the Kremlin wall in Moscow, is a national hero and martyr in Russia. His book, unreservedly recommended by Lenin, is used as a text in the schools of the Soviet Union and is Recognized everywhere as a stirring and faithful record of the events leading to the Dictatorship of the Proletariat." The dust jacket comes with a clear, protective sleeve (not shown).

Condition:
The book is in Fine condition and appears unread - clean both inside and out with no issues found. The dust jacket is un-clipped with the original price intact on the front flap; light tanning to the covers and flaps; the front cover has a 1" vertical tear at the bottom-left and bottom-right corners; some tiny tears along the perimeter...overall the jacket is in Very Good- condition.

Synopsis

Ten Days that Shook the World (1919) is a book by American journalist and socialist John Reed about the October Revolution in Russia in 1917 which Reed experienced firsthand. Reed followed many of the prominent Bolshevik leaders, especially Grigory Zinoviev and Karl Radek, closely during his time in Russia.
