Leicester, Brockhampton, Little Book No.5, (1952).. FIRST EDITION IN THIS SOFT COVER FORMAT (1952) PRICE 1/9 on small sticker on lower cover. Small format, 140 x 132 mm, 5½ x 5¼ inches, cloth backed colour illustrated brown card covers, black and white photo of Blyton on lower cover, 32 pages. Lovely coloured title illustration of Teddy and his friend Golly, colour and black and white illustrations throughout by Eileen Soper. 3 coloured and 2 black and white feature Golly. Brief neat inscription at top of title page, very tiny rust marks to spine from staples, a minute touch of rubbing to corners of covers, otherwise a near Fine crisp clean copy. First published in 1945 in a tall format with hard covers. The earliest copy of our edition listed by Summerfield is priced 1/9 in a single white diamond in the lower margin of the upper cover and also on the lower cover. See Volume II, page 128.
