This is the innovatively designed publication was produced in conjunction with a 1971 Museum of Modern Art retrospective of the prints and multiples issued by Los Angeles-based Gemini G.E.L. It features a complete catalogue raisonné to date of works by Josef Albers, John Altoon, Wallace Berman, Sam Francis, Jasper Johns, Donald Judd, Ellsworth Kelly, Roy Lichtenstein, Man Ray, Claes Oldenburg, Ken Price, Robert Rauschenberg, Ed Ruscha, Frank Stella, and more. A spectacularly well-preserved and complete deluxe edition in the publisher's vacuformed plastic slipcase, including the commissioned Jasper Johns two-color offset lithograph "Target 1970," with facsimile signature, attached watercolor discs, and paintbrush, additionally includes the exhibition catalogue plus protective foam insert sheet. Designed by John M. Coy and includes the exhibition checklist and bibliography. Light soiling to protective housing and wraps, however complete with protective foam between print (with paints and brush attached) and booklet. Light bleedthrough of paint onto foam. Softcover, 108 pages, with 364 illustrations (20 in color) and essay by Riva Castleman. Housed in a white plastic clamshell box, with Jasper Johns 'Target 1970'. Signed by Jasper Johns (in facsimile). Laid in prospectus.
