Tibet was a self-standing nation until 1951 when the People's Republic of China, after a short war, transformed the country into a western province of the PRC. Since that time the Tibetan people have been starved, persecuted, and imprisoned by the PRC to bring them into submission. They are not a second class minority in their own nation; without a religion and a leader (Dalai Lama) in exile. Based on careful research and interviews the author tells the story of Tibet under Chinese occupation. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
