Bean Associates (Los Gatos, California), 6 1/4 x 9 1/4 inches tall orange cloth hardcover, no dust jacket (as issued), gilt lettering to front cover and spine, copiously illustrated with black-and-white photographs, thoroughly indexed, xv, 255 pp. Slight rubbing and edgewear to covers, with slight bumping to the lower edge of the front cover and lower tip of rear cover, and very slight discoloration to spine where a label was removed. Former library copy, with bookplate and ink-mark to front pastedown, abrasions to top edge of blank front free-endpaper where labels were removed and withdrawn stamp to half title page as the only indications of this. Otherwise, a very good copy - clean, bright and unmarked - of this scarce biography and family history/genealogy. OCLC (No. 32552728) locates only five copies at institutions worldwide. ~SP01~ [2.0P] George Teancum Bean (1856-1940) was born in Provo, Utah to George Washington Bean and Elizabeth Baum Bean. He descended on his father's side from Irish stock which had settled in South Carolina and then Kentucky. His mother's side was German background. Teancum grew up in Utah Valley and Richfield. In 1879 he married Celia Hunt and they were the parents of seven children. In 1880 he was called on a mission to the southern states. Celia died in 1910 and Teancum married twice afterword. Descendants live in Utah and other parts of the United States. The book also includes data on the progenitors and children of two of George Teancum Bean's wives: Celia Evelyn Hunt and Ruby May Fordham.
