Near Fine. pp120 1953 Everest mountaineer George Band's own copy of this well illustrated guide book to the High Tatras mountains of Slovakia, with historical notes in Slovakian with English translation, and an album of vintage photographs of the area taken between 1900 and 1950. Gift inscription to front free end paper "80th Anniversary of the Himalayan Club from Slovak Mountaineering Union, Igor Koller, The President Vlado Linek". From the collection of English mountaineer George Band who was the youngest member of John Hunt's successful team which conquered Mount Everest in 1953. A very attractive volume with good mountaineering associations. Near Fine 1997
