About This Item
(London: Cambridge University Press, 1949). 8vo; original red cloth, lettered in gilt on spine; price-clipped dustwrapper; pp. xii + 201, incl. index. Dustwrapper a little edgeworn and partially tanned; trace of light foxing. Good to very good condition. 'The grace and wit of these Sandars Lectures in Bibliography for 1947 will recommend them to others besides the confirmed bibliophile, perhaps even to those who in echoing Housman's "Bibliophiles, an idiotic class" have dared to deny the civilised appeal to eye, heart, mind and imagination of the pursuit. Certainly they will be of real interest to collectors, antiquarians, booksellers, librarians and bookmen in general.' .
