Appears unread, in original publisher's red cloth with black titles, one interior plate loose, corner bumping, else pages are clean, bright, unmarked and binding tight. Neat previous owners bookplate on first pastedown from private library collection, a few scuffs on ffep offset from the glue on bookplate. Lacking only the scarce dust jacket. One of the earliest reprints of the Tarzan Lord of the Jungle from G&D publishers, uncommon in this about fine to very good plus condition. First appearance in the 1927 issue pulp magazine Blue Book Magazine. Frontispiece and three interior plates illustrated by J. Allen St. John. Classic ERB fantasy adventure novel, collectible. 377 pgs. 8vo.



Synopsis

Stimbol drew his hunting knife from his scabbard. He would slip its point through the wild man’s heart...The ape man moved – consciousness was returning. Stimbol realised that he must act quickly and at the same instant a great hairy man reached out through the foliage and a might hand closed over his shoulders. With a screaming curse he turned to look into the hideous face of Bolgani. He tried to strike at the shaggy breast of his antagonist with his hunting knife, but the puny weapon was torn from his grasp and hurled into the bushes. The great yellow fangs were bared against his throat as Tarzan opened his eyes...
