About This Item

London : MacGibbon & Kee, (1971). First British edition. His first book - "It is an astonishing, exasperating book; a beautiful, flowing, stormy prose poem. Tarantula is surrealism on speed, a phantasmagoric trip through America - seen by an impatient, restless, brilliant man stabbing at life with a lethal humour and a strange narrative power" (dust-jacket blurb by Michael Gray). Dylan was to win the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2016. Post 8vo (21cm). [vi],(138)pp. Original lilac-grey boards, lettered in gilt; some small edge-spots, but otherwise a very good copy in the Michael Jarvis dust-jacket - the jacket with just a hint of bruising and a few faint spots to the edges of the inner flaps, but also very good.
