An account of the Central African Mission between 1876 and 1891 written by one of the original members, the author was also a sailor and responsible for the Mission boats on Lake Tanganyika. The folding frontispiece is a panorama of Ujiji. In the original red and silver decorated blue cloth, boards and spine a little stained by moisture, with a signed presentation inscription from the author. A good signed copy of the second edition in the publisher's cloth.
