First printing of this oversized record of the work and life of Mexican Artist Rufino Tamayo. Signed and inscribed by the Curator Diana C. Du Pont to Myra Janco Daniels. Also accompanied by a laid-in ALS from Du Pont to Daniels. Both the inscription and the note written in thanks to Myra for her support of the book and the permission to use the Tamayo piece from the Naples Philharmonic. An intimate inscription to an obviously important supporter and advocate of Tamayo's work. Light scuff to fold of DJ rear panel. NOTE: THIS BOOK IS LARGE AND HEAVY AND WILL REQUIRE SUBSTANTIAL ADDITIONAL POSTAGE FOR ANY SHIPMENT OUTSIDE UNITED STATES.

Myra Janco Daniels (1925-2022), founder and CEO of the Naples Philharmonic Center for the Arts. Myra was also 1965 Advertising Woman of the Year and wife of Draper Daniels, the adman who created "The Marlboro Man" and who was the basis for "Don Draper" on AMC's Madmen TV show. At the age of 25, Myra started her own advertising business in Terre Haute, Indiana which was later purchased by Draper Daniels. She was a longtime collaborator of Draper's and together the couple achieved amazing success in the world of advertising in the mid-20th Century. In retirement, Myra founded the Naples Philharmonic Center and created a world class art museum which she led for over 20 years. Giving a slight nod to Charles Lindbergh, the Pulitzer Prize-Winning author A. Scott Berg once dubbed Myra "The Spirit of Naples.".
