London: John Murray, 1912. Assumed First . Hardcover. Good. Extremely rare original hardcover copy of Talmage autobiography. Cover has moderate wear at edges. Front hinge cracked but intact. Former owners' name-stamps and bookplate on free end paper. Frontispiece is handsome photo of Talmage. Illustrations include: Parents - First Church - Chaplaincy - Brooklyn Tabernacle - Facsimile of President Abraham Lincoln's Letter. Pencil underscorings done neatly throughout. 439 pages. Also included if book is purchased: a "One Penny" Life Story of Dr. Talmage by Harold Wheeler 12 page staple bound booklet. Chapters in body of book distinguished by "Milestones". Concluding chapter is written by his wife. This is a choice classic very scarce volume for the serious collector.
